Question about maintaining a goal weight.

I am 10-20 pounds from my goal. I haven't decided yet exactly what my final goal will be. My question is 1) how do I figure out exactly how many calories I'll be able to eat at maintenance (note that MFP estimates have always been high for me) and 2) will there be a difference in maintenance calories depending on my goal weight, 140 v 150? Basically I wonder if maintaining at 140 will be significantly harder to maintain than 150, assuming I get there?

There will be a slight difference in maintenance calories, but it won't be huge. For me, the difference between weighing 150 and 140 would be 54 calories. You could look up a few TDEE calculators and see what they have to say about your maintenance. But really it just comes down to trial and error, if you carry on losing eat slightly more for a bit, if you start gaining again eat slightly less until you stay around the same weight (remember goal weight should be around a 5lb range, not an exact weight, to account for fluctuations).

This is what I've learned in the last few months at maintenance

    1) you don't have a scale weight but a scale weight range .. mine is around 5lbs
    2) when you increase calories your weight will fluctuate .. hold firm for a few weeks at the new level it should go down, if it doesn't then you've increased too much

    To find TDEE
the best way I think to find your TDEE is by counting up your Total Calories eaten over a couple of months and then counting up your total Weight Loss over the same time period .. then getting a daily average of both numbers (eg divide by number of days)
    - for each pound you lost add 500 calories to the average number and voila you've got a working TDEE over the last 2 months to start with

then monitor it over the next 2 months - if you keep losing weight eat more
