Hey all - I'm once again attempting to reform my cheeseburger gobbling and wine swilling ways for the betterment of my body, and especially my mind. I've never really posted in forums or anything, but I feel my attitude is underrepresented - 90% of health and fitness media is quackery, fraud, self delusion and logical fallacy. I want to lose weight and feel better without having to embrace my mystical qi and chant strange positivity mantras at a mirror. I'm a human being, with human flaws, and I want to lose weight safely, slowly and consistently, but I don't want to cave into the mentality that I'm not REALLY being healthy and in fact should feel guilty every time I eat something not 'paleo'. I hope I'm not the only one. I want to reform my slight excess without becoming a self flagellating dietary ascetic with the zeal of a born again evangelist. I'm 5'7 and 165lbs, and for the past 3 months I've gotten more active, and even bike to and from work (16k/day x 3/week) . I go to Muay Thai kickboxing once a week, and try to hit up the gym 2-3x per week for some strength and cardio. The habit is in place, and I'm less.... puffy? Not a pound dropped though. I have a long way to go though and my diet will have to change. I'm in this with you guys! If you are reading this, I believe we can both figure this **** out! Onwards not outwards!
