2 day fast

has anyone tried a jump start? I heard you could fast and lose 5 pounds and keep it off and then continue to lose by going back to eating 1200 a day? Thinking of trying it starting Monday. Coffee tea water and diet soda. Maybe a cup o soup? Any thoughts.

    Your body isn't a car and doesn't require a jump start.

    The likely cause of the weight 'loss' is that you normally have food processing in your system. Food you eat now is not immediately eliminated thru bowel movements, it takes time. So if you fast for 2 days you reach a point where there is no solid waste in you. Scale shows a lower #. Kind of like how you can force deyhdration, and the scale weight would go down.

    Does not mean you've actually lost any fat - which is hopefully the goal. Not just seeing a magic # on the scale. And the effect would be temporary.
