Most Exciting Moment of Your Life

I was just looking through old Facebook pictures and was reminded of the most exciting moment of my life. It happened during my senior year of high school (I'm 23 so not that long ago!) when I won a State championship in Public Speaking. I had been on my school's Speech team for four years, and it was pretty much my life in High School. Our team was about 80 people and really close - felt like family - but we were underdogs and had never won our section meet and no one from our school had ever won a State championship. Just making it to the final round of the State competition was a huge accomplishment for me, and I never thought I'd win. As places were announced, I remember standing on stage during the awards ceremony and hearing all my teammates in the audience gasp as the 2nd place name was announced, and I was the only person left without a medal! I immediately burst into tears and didn't stop freaking out for at least a few days. It still kind of makes me tear up thinking about it :)

Nothing since has compared to that moment - even falling in love and getting married (although that was certainly pleasant ;) )! I'm hoping I'll feel something similar once I hit my goal weight :) So, since a lot of us on these boards are currently struggling, let's think about the good times. What was the most exciting moment in your life?

I was chemistry student of the year! I thought my brilliant lab partner was going to get it because it seemed like he could play video games all the time and still get perfect grades.

@lithezebra That is SO awesome. Chem in high school was the worst year of my life, so props to you for rocking at it!

@Christina I'm guessing that will be my new moment, when I finally get there :)

Well... I'd have to say my daughter's birth was first, but this was a close second...

I was present at the 2006 NCAA D-I Men's Ice Hockey Midwest Regional Final, cheering on my Badgers. Wisconsin beat Cornell in triple OT to advance to the Frozen Four, and went on to win the National Championship that year. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ib_rpKdAjac)
  • Definitely the birth of both my sons! Biggest high in the world! Once it was over of course.

Hearing ''its a girl'' at my ultrasound with my daughter. I always, always wanted a girl and hearing those words was by far the best moment of my life.
