Binging.

Hey all. For the past several months I have been working hard to gain muscle and get fit. I am good with making sure I get enough calories and proper nutrition, but I have been struggling very badly with binging. For no reason whatsoever I have days where I just want to "eat all da carbs" and binge badly on desserts. I recognize that I'm not hungry and I need to stop but I just can't. Has anyone overcome binge eating and can relate or give me advice?

Thank you <3

Its often a sign you are going for things too aggressively or restrictive. Why not moderate and include the binge foods in your allowance? I dont have a problem with carbs and am mystified by all the demonisation of them.
Perhaps keep a diary and write down about your binges, the key at this stage is to identfy why and then run through your options in preventing or minimising them.

You might also want to help the posters that follow by opening your diary and giving more information.

come up with some activities you can do when you get the urge to binge eat that will replace the behavior. also, I am an emotional eater, so keeping a diary of what i'm feeling and how i want to "eat it away" helps me. I have also reached out to friends for support in moments i feel like caving..... and when i do, i find the urge will pass, regardless of if i give into it or not. hope this helps. and, just for the record, i binge a LOT less than i used to, but i'm still working on it too.
    cheers, Myra
