People don't know me

I was walking through a store the other week and I spotted a former co-worker up ahead, someone I had no interest in running into but I braced myself for an awkward hello. As I passed, I looked right at her (being a decent human being and acknowledging her seemed better than pretending I didn't see her) and she looked at me and.....nothing! I kept walking and almost shouted, "OMG She didn't know who I was!!!" I'm actually excited I might be able to avoid people! Never thought of this happening, but a pleasant NSV.

Hey! That happened to me today, too! I saw a lady at the gym that I KNOW I have seen in context somewhere else, and not even a GLIMMER of recognition. I can never remember names so I didn't go up and ask her where I knew her from. She really did not recognize me.

I have nothing constructive to add - except that I can totally understand that feeling!
