Hi all,

I've just recently had a medical condition diagnosed and been told to decrease my iron intake and increase my protein intake as much as possible. I don't want to get into the details of the diagnosis, but am just wondering if people had any suggestions on foods that are (very) low in iron and (very) high in protein that I can include in my diet? I am lactose intolerant, so dairy isn't an option.

Thanks in advance :)

Wow! That's unusual. I googled for you and found this page: http://www.irondisorders.org/diet

If you scroll down, they say that many things can inhibit the absorption of iron. I wouldn't try the excess calcium one without asking your doctor, though.

My step dad is the same way. So less red/game meat and eat fewer dark leafy greens and not dog other colours (notice I did not say fully avoid and said eat fewer)
