Hello everyone, I'm a newbie to all this. I'm trying to lose about 60+lb. I've been stuck in a rut with weight for about 5 years, but have recently decided to join in with a 5k fun run in September for a friend's godson who is 2 and has been diagnosed with leukemia. This is my chance to get fit and stay fit. I've just got myself a fitbit zip to keep track of my steps each day and to spur me on to do more. Both me and my partner have been logging our calorie intake each day too for the last few days. It's quite exciting, I just hope I don't lose interest along the way like I have before. It's nice to know so many others have the same struggle with weight and are in similar positions in trying to lose it.

Nat :) x

You can find friends in the Fitbit Users group: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/1290-fitbit-users

Fitbit challenges are great motivation—and fun.
