Can someone please explain calorie deficit...I am beyond confused!!! MIne says:

Net Calories Consumed* / Day 1,480 cal/day

From Normal Daily Activity 2,420 cal/day

Your Daily Goal 1,480 cal/day

Daily Calorie Deficit 940 calories

So does this mean I need to burn at least 940 everyday or what?

No, this means that your daily calories to maintain your current weight (TDEE) according to MFP is 2420 calories. If you eat 1480 calories a day, that gives you a daily deficit of 940 calories below your maintenance calories without doing any exercise.

this :) your net is 1480cals a day. This means that your total calorie intake should be 1480 calories after exercising too. So if you go for a jog for say 30mins and burn 300cals, then you should really be eating 1480cals + 300cals = 1780cals. The reason for this is that the deficit is ALREADY calculated into the 1480cal daily intake. You are already eating LESS food than you normally should, and exercising more is going to make this difference even BIGGER which can be unhealthy.

tl;dr eat 1480cals a day PLUS how ever many calories you burn from exercise :)
