Compliments at the gym... all day, everyday!

So for the past week, I've consistently been getting all sorts of nice words, encouragement, motivation, and even compliments at my gym. I was so taken aback when a lady walked up to me and said that I didn't have to come to the gym anymore because I was pretty toned. I thanked her, but looked down at my mommy belly lol.

Since then, EVERY SINGLE DAY, I get a compliment or another from random people at or around the gym. It really makes my day, and shows how much progress I'm making. Sure, I'm getting a little vain haha, but it's always nice to encourage people. I told this way older woman last night that her form while doing pull-ups was amazing, she was tickled pink. :)

How have people complimented you on your physique/progress?

That's so nice! And good for you :)

Actually in my pump class last night a middle aged lady opted for squats when we were doing lunges (bad knees?). Anyway there wasn't much room so I ended up turning sideways to face her to do my lunges. The muscle definition on her thighs was absolutely AMAZING!! I really wanted to say and asked her what her routine was but I thought she might think I was weird so didn't. Maybe next time!

Yes, its a temporary uplift, then its back to work on diet and lifestyle. Its a long time maintaining and perfecting,
until the last breathe if you want. :)

I work out at home, but I've been getting lots of compliments from my honey LOL... that counts right? It definitely helps me stay motivated!

That's a great boost. The whole 'you look great so don't need to bother any more' thing annoys me though, if you want to stay looking great you need to work at it!

Working out at home > working out at the gym.

People often make noises when I stuff a 20kg dumbbell between my thighs and do pull ups. I am not sure if it's just the general idea of doing pull ups with more than your bodyweight or the fact that a skinny runt like me can do pull ups let alone weighted pull ups.
    older woman ... doing pull-ups

Women doing pull ups is cool. Older women doing pull ups is ice cold. *goes for a lie down*

With compliments, yeah sometimes you'll be like, ah cool man maybe I should go back to cheesecake eating and lazy person living lol. I like the "you're so beautiful" comments best though, that will stay classic haha.

Home workouts trump gym workouts any day, because its so much easier to end up not working out in the comfort of your own home :O

Haha ice cold older women huh? She's prolly my gramma's age, and she does pull-ups. I couldn't do one to save my life!

You know you're doing it right when you so many compliments. Congrats!! Keep it up! I don't really get compliments myself but I do dish them out whenever I can!

A couple of months or so back while was in the gym I saw a lady, tall and with a broad slightly heavy build, doing calf raises on the standing standing calf machine. I noticed that she'd selected quite a heavy load on the weights. Her calves weren't that muscular and had little definition on them but clearly they were strong because she did those calf raises with such seeming ease, going through the whole set (I believe it was about 20 repetitions) without breaking a sweat. If I remember very well, the weight she'd selected was about 60kg. So when she finished her set I went up to her, and after looking at the weights in amazement, turned to her and told her she has really strong calves. She smiled and tried to be all modest saying that she struggled in the last few repetitions but I wasn't buying it! She still appreciated my compliment anyway!

by the time i was 19 i'd started to tune out compliments. i smile, say thank you, then forget it instantly.
actually, in the last year i've taken to telling people that it's all down to my diet of chocolate & chips, with my most sincere smile. everyone i work with is now convinced that i eat either cake or chocolate for breakfast every day.

i'm just an *kitten* i guess.

People don't notice until you tell them you lost.. in my case, maybe because they see you often. However ..lady at the swimming pool looked at me and wasn't sure if it was me lol I lost 48 lbs so far.

Just your typical "wow I noticed you have lost weight, congrats! It makes me embarrassed, especially from women. It's weird for me since for the longest time I didn't get any so I'm not used to it.
