I was just curious about how much water a peraon ahould drink. According to a website I found, it says to take your weight and mulitpy it by 0.67. That would put me at 142 oz (roughly). It also says the more u sweat, the more u should drink on top of it. Now I'm a big water drinker,(usually a gallon during work times); but 20 glasses a day seems like a lot, even for me. Any thoughts?

Personally I aim for 30-40 cups a day. What helps is having a big water bottle and liquid flavors. There's no limit on how much a person should drink. Just make that judgement for yourself is my advice.0

That's 2.5 gallons on the high end... You must live near the equator or exercise a ton, because that's a lot of water for most people...0 -

I do low carb, so lots of water is a must for me. I don't think I exercise more than the average person, but I do have a pretty active job that keeps me moving for about 5 hours.

I drink a gallon a day as well which would put my "over" what I should drink. If you are worried, this is a pretty nifty calculator: http://www.camelbak.com/hydrationcalculator0

DO NOT go by any steadfast rule that ANYONE ever tells you. Use reason and common sense. 2 cups per day is probably too little. 30 cups per day is probably too much.
Drink for thirst. And if you're not taking a multivitamin (which can skew urine color) straw colored urine is best.
With that said, I average 8-12 cups of plain water per day, including coffee and unsweetened tea per day. It is definitely enough for me.0 -
Eric Helms discusses water intake in his nutritional series. I will link to the specific one, but that entire series is worth watching. I think its at around the 13:20 mark in the video where he gets into water intake.
