Diet soda will in no way hinder your weight loss, and it is unlikely to negatively impact your health. Any soda, and any acidic food in general, can wear down the enamel on your teeth, so if you do drink sodas (or drink coffee, or eat citrus foods, etc), be sure to practice good dental hygiene.

If you truly want to cut back on diet sodas, try to cut down to a can a day gradually to avoid caffeine withdrawal, etc. There is nothing wrong with drinking diet soda in moderation.

I lost 106 pounds and drank diet pepsi the entire time. However, I now drink more water and less diet pepsi just because I know it's healthier.

There is nothing wrong with diet soda. I am ninety pounds down and I still enjoy it.

I enjoy diet pop as well but my drink of choice is water as I become dehydrated easily (esp. In the summer) but I drink maybe 3 diet pops a week!

"There is currently no good evidence that diet soda is bad for you (i.e. causes weight gain or health complications). Even the topic of diet soda causing food overconsumption is mixed literature. The worst side-effect of diet soda is potentially poor dental health."
