So for breakfast I ate porage oats and some strawberries, logged it and it was 165 calories and I just ate some grapes logged it and it was 128 calories. So is there really that many calories in grapes ? Especially compared to oats, I'm confused.

Okay thanks, so could it be considered "good" sugar? ie better than eating candy or something0

I do eat fruit because I feel fruit is good for you. Yes I eat cherries when they are in season as well as grapes. I say it's better than a Snickers bar LOL. But they do have a lot of natural sugar and so I try to think about that when I consider my calories for the day.0

But they are good for you.. and you get nutrients. It is better to eat a bunch of grapes for the same calories as something like white bread.0

Yes, any fruit is better than candy as far as nutrition. If you're counting calories, you'll get more mileage from an apple or melon. You could eat a couple of apples for the same calories as a small amount of grapes. It depends on what you want... if you plan for the calories, by all means enjoy the grapes or any other treat.0

Okay thanks, i normally stick to apples, red peppers or carrots to snack on0

It is also a natural sugar so your body processes it differently than it would say white refined sugar. You need to eat the things that you enjoy just watch your portion size after all this is about a life style change not a fad diet!0

My body hates sugar but loves grapes (fruit sugar doesn't bother me). They're great for digestion :blushing:0

USDA says grapes are 2 cal per grape. This appears rounded up from 1.6. So 40 grapes = 64 calories. That's a great snack. Citric acid also aids in reducing chances of forming kidney stones. Commercial fruit juices are another matter - high in calories and often introduce additional sugar into the the juice.0
