I'm working really hard to get fit--eating healthy and balancing it with exercise. I can't seem to get a good amount of protein in my daily diet. What are your personal favorite [easy] ways to get more protein? And what are your favorite energy boosting foods and snacks?? I'm especially interested in quick and easy ideas! Thank you!

Chicken breasts, tuna. Both easy to cook, tuna in a can is even better because there is no cooking time.

Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, beans and pulses, eggs, egg whites, tofu, veggy protein burgers. And of course protein bars and shakes.

Chicken, eggs, canned tuna or salmon, string cheese, greek yogurt. I still fall short a lot of the time, so I add a scoop of protein powder to my morning smoothie.

I don't really find specific foods energy boosting. I drink coffee or tea when I need help getting psyched up to exercise!

Honestly just google sources of protein and you will get a zillion articles. Meat, fish and dairy are my main ones. There are plenty though and things like some veg add up.

Energy boosting foods, then I prefer complex carbs for longer sustained energy i.e oatmeal, seeds, some bread.
Shorter term energy boosts are more simple carbs I love bananas.

Yesterday I somehow got 155 grams of protein in about 1400-1500 calories. Quest bar for breakfast, cottage cheese for snack, greek yogurt along with some meat for lunch, meat for dinner, yogurt for dessert. You can look at my diary for ideas too.

For snacks, find a trail mix with almonds, sunflower seeds, cashews & raisins. They're tasty, high in protein, and totally natural (really try to avoid processed foods as much as possible).

I eat 2 chicken breasts, 2-3 eggs and have 2 scoops of whey almost every day. Quinoa and other grains similar to it have protein in it as well, so they're a great side dish.

Broccoli and raspberries are great low calorie snacks with a surprisingly decent amount of protein.

There's always of course yogurt, nuts and protein bars too.

Chicken breast is an obvious choice and egg whites too but I was surprised by the quantity of protein in Kraft Fat free cheddar 9grams in 45 calories worth. That is practically pure protein to calorie ratio. I have been having egg white omelets with fat free cheddar and spinach chicken sun dried tomatoes and just a sprinkle of bacon. mmmmm

I've been upping my protein with edamame steamed in the pod. they're fun to eat, tasty, and filling. I've also been doing one protein shake/day, and chicken breast for dinner.
