I never thought I'd be that person, I w as always in shape, about right for my frame and height - I have a bigger frame than mostwomen and Im 5'6. I've lost my full-time job I had for almost 20 years, 5years ago and since then Ive been just putting on the weight. That year I started walking a lot in order to lose weight; we had a very mild Winter so I walked all throughthe WInter and have been keeping up the walking but still gained. I havent belonged to a gym since then, either b/c Ive had no money to pay for one, I've been basically caring for my elderly father. I've been able to stay in shape working out at home with OnDemand and YouTube ( thanks to the age of high-tech) but I'm getting desperate and see ing my sister, 3 yrs older than me , who ahd alos gained a considerable amount of weight and weighed around what I do and has lost 50-60 lbs, as wellas a co-worker also my age who's lost 50 lbs. I decided thiswould be the year I wouldnt be seen in my Summer clothes, at the beach weighing @ 200 lbs and feeling bad about how I look. It's now June and I still weigh 196 lbs. ( may have lost 6-8lbs since I started late Winter/early Spring). I've adjusted my eating habits several times, I always eat healthily and I'm excercising more, and longer but the weight won't come off. I also do have some chronic injuries, too so sometimes I cant consistently do some excerises, sometimes I have to take a day or two off walking .Some years Ive had the goal of having it dropped by my birthday in mid-July, hasnt happened. It'd be nice to lose 20-30 lbs by then!

Coming here is a good start! I guess I would have to ask, are you tracking every last bite you eat? Are you weighing or measuring your food? How far are you walking, what kind of pace and for how long? Are you under eating? I totally understand the weight gain after the loss of a job, been there, time to quit doing that. I lost over 60 lbs last time I was active on this site then came down with a neurological disorder and stopped all activity and increased my eating to make myself feel better.... that does not help! I would suggest a couple different things one is to follow this program well. track all foods, get exercise, make friends on here and get some support happening. Don't under eat and don't set date deadlines.
