We went to dinner for my daughters birthday last night. Red Robin, Innocently I asked if they had the nutritional values for the menu, holy cow apparently no one has ever asked for that before. When our waitress finally came back, she told me I would have to go on their website or app to find it. Neither of which is easy to you. I came on MFP instead and found what I needed. I can't believe that they don't have something like that on hand for people .

Our Red Robin usually has a nutrition info chart right on the table. I like it when they have it readily available right on the menu, too. But in most cases, I try to look up a restaurant's nutritional info before I go, so I can narrow my choices down before I get there.

Restaurants aren't required to post their nutritional information or have it handy. I think most places feel that people won't eat there if they see how many calories are in their food but I think it would help people make healthier choices. I personally like it when the nutrition info is posted because it can be a real eye opener. My husband and I went to Hard Rock in Vegas for lunch once and they had the nutritional information on the menu. The least caloric thing on there was wings and quesadillas which we split.. When I go to Panera it's posted and it helps me figure out where I want to spend my calories.

I have found Red Robin's app and website both extremely easy to use. They have a customizable meal builder, and I think it's one of the best restaurant sites for info. They don't have it on hand because it's not required. Also, I know some restaurants were being sued over providing info, but then it wasn't accurate. I think that had to do with gluten free stuff, but since it's prepared right there, an extra scoop of mayo or more fries than normal, etc. are going to change the values.

Yeah, it can get annoying when trying to log. Like someone else said, it's not required, and there are probably way more people that don't ask for it rather than do. Usually if I go out to eat and the place doesn't have nutritional information, I look up the closest thing to what I ate in the database, and log that. It might not be 100% accurate, but it's something. Don't let it stress you out too much.
  • Luckily I had looked around before going and basically knew what I was getting. But they had a few new things on the menu, so I wanted to see what the nutritional value was. I ended up staying with what I had originally picked before going because I knew what I could eat then.

This may be true where you live, but in many parts of the US it is required by local or state laws. And most chains require their locations have it available on request as a matter of policy. I would contact Red Robin and let them know, it is likely their policy that they have it available in the restaurants if they post it on their website.
