When I exercise I add more calories. Does that mean I have to eat more to make up those calories? Or I don't have to. Confused!!!

Hi! When you set up MFP it takes all your info and sets a base calorie cap for how much you need just to get through the day. So when you work out it will add some calories to your cap because your body needs the extra fuel to get through the day. For me, personally, I just try to make sure I'm slightly beneath the cap and it usually results in weight lost. Also be sure to really keep an eye on the sugars, fats, carb breakdown. I really like that function because it lets me know if I have too much sugar or fat in my diet. Such a great app!0

Most people on here will tell you to eat back half of your exercise calories because of the overestimation of MFP. I usually just log half the time I exercise and it works the same.0

There are two methods you can do for calorie tracking. some people use the mfp method which you earn exercise calories that you can eat back. The calorie burns tend to be very exaggerated so I would suggest eating back 60-70% of the calories.
Some people use the TDEE-20% method which already has your calories from exercise included so you wouldn't earn extra calories from exercise.

And adjust based on your actual rate of loss vs your expected rate of loss. So if you are losing faster than expected, eat back more. If you are losing slower than expected, double check your logging, and if it's accurate, eat back less.0 -

Log in the full amount of exercise because you will want to look back at the Reports tool to see what you have been doing.

What I do is log the time but adjust the calorie burn.
