Healthy Chipotle Hummus!
Hello,
Two weeks ago I made a delicious chipotle hummus, with just 6 ingredients : Chickpeas (garbanzo), garlic, salt, lemon juice, olive oil and chipotle chillis!...It is a very healthy spread for your pitas, sandwiches or use it as a dip. Of course, moderation is the key, but don't worry, chikpeas are a good source of carbs and protein!
All you need is a food processor or blender and..:
2 cans of garbanzo beans (8oz each, 16 oz total) (drained, but keep some of the liquid)
2 garlic clove (peeled and crushed!)
1/4 of cup of extra virgin olive oil
1 or 2 chipotle chillis (or just half of it in case you don't like it that spicy
the juice of one lemon
salt and pepper to taste
Put everything on the food processor, expect for the oil and some of the drained liquid and start to mix.
Add a couple of tablespoons of the liquid in case it is hard to mix. Then pour the olive oil slowly while the processor is on, until you finish the oil, et voila!!!

It is delicious, I spread it in a whole grain pita, filled it up with broiled chicken breast, and topped it with diced tomatos, cucumber and red onions (with a little bit of vinegar, salt, pepper and a dash of olive oil) and it was AMAZING!

It is bro!, I am doing Hummus version 2.0 this week, I will add some sesame paste (It is called tahini, but I don;t have that in my city, so i will make it from scratch) and probably change the chipotle for another chilli pepper, and I will post it very soon!!!

Down here in Mexico we use chiles for all the foods!, we have them on breakfast, dinner, it doesn't matter, and chipotles ...well, we love them as much as jalapeños!

Hey hey hey!!!...Yesterday I prepared Hummus version 2.0!...This time I added some sesame seeds (previously toasted) and didn't use raw garlic, but broiled one for a few minutes, and of course the flavor was super delicious!!!0
