Does anyone know how I can create a barcode to scan into the system for foods I create?

Why would you want to do that? When you create a food it goes in your "my foods" section

Because I would like for everyone else in my area that uses the site to be able to do the same thing. I create foods for many people and would love to be able to let them know they can scan a food i've made into their day

The Universal Product Code is a regulated number and costs manufacturers a set-up fee and yearly maintenance fee.
How to Apply for a Food Product Barcode?
Not really worth it... $750 set-up fee, $150 per year maintenance fee.

Was anyone able to figure out how to simplistically add a barcode to a recipe?
