Lifting+Surplus & injury

Options
On my first week of starting my 300 calorie surplus, I pulled out my lower back and did some damage to one of my ligaments around my knee. I've been out of the gym for a week so far, and plan to be out at least another week. During this time, I am taking in maintenance calories.

When I return to the gym, I won't be able to do Squats, Deadlifts, or Lunges right away, so I'm going to have to supplicate them with leg curls and extensions. I also won't be able to do rows, or any type of shoulder presses, which basically means I'm down to bench press, seated curls, triceps stuff, and a few core workouts.

Is it even worth being in a caloric surplus if I am limited in my exercises, or should I stick to maintenance until I am 100% better to do all the major compounds?

Hey Ez, I know it sucks to be out the gym.

If I was in your situation (I have a similar one), I would eat in maintenance and wait until you're able to do all the major compound lifts.

I hope you recover well soon my friend.
