I have a hard time reaching my protein goals, so I recently started supplementing with protein powder. I've been mixing it up with almond milk and it taste reallyy good. But I still want more things to do with it.

One specifically, protein sludge. How is it made and what are some good flavor combinations and/or toppings?

I would also appreciate some simple protein smoothie recipes.

Flavors I have: Chocolate, peanut butter, and vanilla

Thanks in advance!

I love blending a cup of ice, one scoop protein, enough water to blend and half a tsp of xanthan gum. Blend for a looong time till it gets all fluffy. Kinda has a soft serve ice cream texture, tons of volume and very filling. I like to top mine with whatever I got room for in my macros/calories. Fruit, granola, cereal, choc chips etc

Almond milk, banana, cocoa, chocolate protein makes a great chocolate-banana milkshake-esque thing. Lucky you with you peanut butter flavored powder could probably make a Reeses flavored one though. ;)

Also, not a shake but this recipe for protein breakfast carrot muffins didn't turn out gross and dry like some protein powder baked goods do!

check out Quest's youtube and instagram, they do TOOOOOONS of recipes. personally, i use whey occasionally, but try to get my protein from whole foods, its been a hard transition for me as well, but i find i cant eat egg whites with FF cheese, fat free organic cottage cheese, and canadian bacon slices allllllllllllll day long and those are all nearly fat free and high protein
