Hi everyone and big ups to those that are on this journey just for being here and not giving up. i have a number of health issues and with 56 years old raising before me and realistically 40 kgs to loose I am running out of excuses and time. I am unmotivated and not coping well at the moment as unable to work due to back problems. Feeling useless and isolated. So have put on and taken off the same 3 kgs about 20 times this year. I feel I need to reinvent myself but don't know where to start. My husband is getting sick of my moaning and I can't blame him. HELP!!!!!

Hey, this works and it is so simple! Eat at a calorie deficit and you must lose weight, that it. I think as you lose it will help with the back issues or it won't make them worse. Nothing but positive results as I lost weight. It will be a long journey but a good one.

    Hey Colleen,

I have lost 125 lbs. It's tough, but simple.

The first thing you need to do is start setting goals. You're on here, so start counting those calories. Set you goals, and stick to them. Log everything! (is my mantra). Go for two weeks at first - and see how it goes.

Remember, it took a long time for you to put ON the weight, so you are going to have to be patient with yourself as it comes off. About one pound per week is what you could expect.

Second - perhaps find an accountability buddy. Don't let yourself slide off. Find a dietician or therapist, and set up monthly meetings where you have to check in.

    You can do this :)

Focus on logging. Log everyday -- on good days and bad days. Once you get good at the logging habit, you can take a look, analyze, evaluate, and decide to make some helpful changes. :)
