Hey guys! How many cheat days should i have a week to maintain my weight? And how do I tackle a cheat day? Do I just not care and eat chips and sweets or should I still count calories? Thanks!!! Add me! Always ready to encourage and always in need for some =D

Cheat days are BS.
Eat whatever you want every day. Stay within your calorie counts...every day.
If you have a high day because of a social event, raise your deficit other days of the week.0 -
I'm having a higher calorie day today, all week I've kept back 150ish calories a day.
I'll go and run for an hour soon, then tonight I'm off out for a meal, Stage show and lot's of wine. I will over log it to be on the safe side. Other than that I won't sweat it. Life is for enjoying. I don't plan them as in 1-2 days a week, they just happen as social events really.0 -
Step 1: Calculate your calorie intake per day required for weight loss (we'll use 2000 calories a day as an example).
Step 2: Multiply this amount by 7 to get your weekly calorie intake required for weight loss (2000 x 7 = 14000)
Step 3: Eat in such a way that you consume at or below 14000 calories a week.
You can eat 2000 calories every day, you can eat 1850 calories 4 days a week and 2200 calories for the other 3 days. You can even eat 1800 calories 6 days a week and have 1 day where you eat 3200 calories.
It's completely up to you. Don't label things as "strict days" and "cheat days" as some people do. You don't need to give a high calorie day a negative connotation. As long as you're consuming at or below your weekly calorie goal, you are going to lose weight. Simple as that.
*Same approach can be used when you're trying to maintain your weight, or gain weight, just adjust step 1 so that you're calculating your maintenance calories, or your surplus calories.0 -
Fit in what you want every day. You'll never have to cheat.0

Well, I count calories and have sweets every single day. No need for a cheat day.0

I think cheat day is a bad term. But I have days I go over my goals for weight loss. It slows the process down but it's working for me. If I kept my calories where they should be is probably lose much more quickly but it is less sustainable for me. If you really are in maintenance you shouldn't need cheat days. But days probably won't all be even. Track your whole week and make sure the total weekly calories work out.0

If you are not able to enjoy the foods you love in smaller portions everyday, then saving calories to have a larger portion may be for you. As long as you're within your calories it's fine. You're not cheating, you're enjoying good food0
