CBT Approach to Weight Loss

I am returning after six months and want to find a buddy or buddies who might like to try something different. I'm qualified in cognitive behaviour therapy and want to know whether this approach of looking at trigger situations, thoughts, feelings and behaviours can work with weight loss rather than a focus on just food in/energy out... I have a lot to lose and would love to find some others who are perhaps yo-yo dieters or emotional eaters and we could try this with as a wee group. I'm 42, Scottish female and ready!
