Green Smoothies and Chia seeds

I realize I am late getting on the green smoothie bandwagon but I was positive I wouldn't like them. For one thing they are ugly brown, not green and I don't even like spinach that much. However, at the beginning of the week I tried one and LOVED it. I make it 100 calories and just because I love it so much I have been having 2 a day. One for breakfast and one for afternoon snack before my workout. The best part is I have been eating 4 cups of spinach a day. My energy level is way up and I just feel good!
While searching for recipes for green smoothies I saw that many of them call for chia seeds. I've never been sure about these seeds. Are they worth the calories? Do they really keep you full for hours? Have you had any other noticeable benefits from them? How much do you use in a smoothie to get the benefits? Most recipies I saw call for 1 tablespoon. That is about 70 calories. Do I really need to use that much?
