My wife has lost 35lbs and kept it off for over a year and half ballroom dancing. Bollywood dancing is fun! So much more jumping and hopping around. A great cardio exercise if you can do it.

My first batch of weight was lost on those video game dance pads (DDR). Cardio is cardio. House/Bollywood/Swing/Zumba could be about 250/300 an hour but depends how hard you're working. If you're 300 lbs and just killing it for an hour could be 600+.

All cardio is good, but without monitoring your intake of food, you might not see success. Cardio can help you create a calorie deficit. I am a lindy hop dancer. I dance a few times a week for a few hours at a time. It gives me enough extra calories to enjoy some beers on the weekends, but I still have to keep my food under control (I use a food scale).
