If your looking for a quick result Google chemical breakdown diet good luck xx

Um no - apparently you didn't read the part where MFP users aren't supposed to encourage unhealthy, very low calorie diets.

There are people that can somewhat safely lose 15 pounds in a month. If that profile picture is you, you are not one of them. At best you'll give up midway through, at worse you'll end up somewhere in hospital with a large loss of lean muscle that will only take you further from any long term goal you have for weight loss.

You don't need to be burn 3500 calories for one pound. That's a myth.
Strange that both my dietician and doctor (endocrinologist specializing in weight issues) use that formula.
Maybe those highly-educated health care professionals need to be shown whatever current research you've read

I like PubMed. (You've used it yourself, I'm sure.)

I thank you all for your advice. I'm not a particularly vein person, just trying to get back to what I was only 3-4 months ago. My plan is to just work hard, stay committed and hope for the best.
The 30-40lb gain was due to stopping a seizure medication. I guess it's side effects had a way of controlling my weight.
As confusing as it all is to me, I can only do what I'm able to do within the timeframe I have.

I lost 14lbs in just over two weeks so it is possible but I am a guy, not horribly overwieght but just started. Due to my poor eating habits almost all of that was water weight. It is slowing way down now which is normal.
