Filling Calories

Options
So I've changed up my diet lately to include better whole foods and cut out refined/processed/sugary things, but now I've run into a new problem. Even with eating 3 balanced meals a day and snacking, I'm finding it hard to reach my daily calorie goal of 1200 calories, and often fall about 300 calories short. Any help on how to fill that space?

First check your logging to make sure it's accurate. Are you using a food scale for your solids? If not, I highly recommend getting one to make sure you've got the right portion sizes (weigh foods in grams).

If your logging is accurate, then evaluate what you've been eating. Did you switch to low-fat items and/or eliminate oils, dressing, etc? If so, add those back in. Things like nut butters and avocados are great additions :)

Increase the calories in your meals

Butter on your bread, oil on salads, cheese

    It's not much

Add avocado to your salad, Chia, hemp, or flax seeds to your smoothie. All have healthy fats and are filling.
