I'm a newbie - Week one down

Hi all -

I'm a newbie and I completed my first week on Wednesday. I'm down 2ish lbs so far (the scale went back and forth between 2 and 3 lbs a couple of times on Wednesday morning so I decided to round down for now).

So far, I've logged my food 9 days in a row and it feels great to be aware of what I'm putting in my mouth. I hope to do well on MyFitnessPal and I hope to lose the weight I've been trying to lose for years. My goal is to lose about 30 lbs so I guess I just have 28 more to go! Boy - that sounds like a lot!

Happy Friday!

Thank you Rugratz2015. Honestly, I think I should probably lose more than 30 lbs, but that's my goal for now because I don't know how happy I would be being that much lighter. I've been heavy / chunky (I call it fluffy) my entire life so I think a 30 lb goal is healthy and realistic for me. I fear that anything more than that (assuming I reach my goal) will make me obsessive and I fear developing body image issues (which I currently don't have at my current weight).

28 lbs left feels like I have forever to go, but I've been giving up on myself for about 10 years when it comes to weight loss and I refuse to do it again.

Congratulations and way to go! I've always been more motivated with mini-goals. I shudder at the my whole goal weight, but if i break it down into 10lb increments, I get more determined.
