The premise of a protien shake is not to lose weight imo. That burden on on you.

The shake itself won't really help you lose weight, but it can help boost your protein macros. Look for a shake that is low calorie so you don't end up blowing out your deficit. A shake designed for bulking won't help you.

I REALLY like using a protein shake as a replacement for breakfast. It's quick and easy and I just throw some oats in there with skim milk and it makes a pretty good meal. My personal favorite brands are Optimum Nutrition and Dymatize however I usually just buy what's on sale and has a good reputation. I'd also like to put in a good word for an extended release protein. If you're using it as a meal replacement then getting something that is designed to breakdown slowly and in turn keep you fuller longer makes sense to me.

As mentioned above, if you want something that will keep you fuller longer, look for a protein powder that also contains casein

yea I think 2 casein or blend shakes a day, 12 hours apart for satiety

whey the rest of the time (or protein from food)

No more than keeps you in deficit, and as many as you need to meet your protein macro.

Protein drinks don't help you lose weight, a calorie deficit does.
