Home gym that won't break the bank... suggestions???

My husband, our 3 kids and I have recently started this lifestlye change to lose weight and instill healthy habits as a family!!! My husband has currently lost just over 60 pounds and I am at just over 30. We are on our way, but still have a long way to go! Time is something we don't have alot of... so I need to invest in some way to get some workouts done during whatever hours we are home, which varies drastically depending on the time of year!!!

I am thinking of getting a home gym for my hubby for his birthday, but we have three kids who are involved in every activity imaginable and I can't spend a fortune on one! Any suggestions for a good workout, but at an affordable price?

Help me PLEASE.....................

I have a treadmill and want to get a stationary bike. I think it really depends on what they like to use as far as equipment, you don’t want to get them something that they like in theory but ends up unused. My treadmill was a gift, the bike I will look on craigslist or play it again sports for a good deal

I have dumbell weights in a few sizes that I bought over the years. I also have an ankle weight that can go up to 20 lbs. I currently have it at 12. basically you add or remove the weight you don't want. I also have a Yoga Mat and Fit ball.

Also with the kids - a jumprope is a great exercise you can do and they are cheap.

I have a $30 garage sale Schwinn stationary bike that I point at the TV and ride. It's great. If I had more $$ I would get a treadmill too.

If I only had $100 to spend on a home gym, I would buy the JungleGym XT and never look back.

I have an extensive home gym, and I still love the jungle gym xt.

Don't waste your money on a treadmill or a home gym.

This is about all you'll ever need.

    - exercise bands
    - kettlebells/dumbells
    - furniture sliders
    - possible a TRX or other type of suspension system

Should be set up pretty decent for $200-400.

You could always get some videos that use your own body weight as resistance. IE Insanity. No equipment necessary.
