Hello!

I'm super nervous about my first class tomorrow, it is a 'Body Attack' class and pretty similar to Body Pump I think. Does anyone have any advice or experience of this class? I have no idea what to expect and I'm worried I will not have the strength to do it or I will show myself up, despite my stamina being very good.

BodyAttack is my favorite class! There's tons of videos on YouTube, so it should be fairly easy to figure out what to expect if you'd like some information before going. BodyPump uses weights pretty much from start to finish. The only equipment used in BodyAttack would be maybe a mat for the push up and core tracks (usually provided by the gym), as well as something to towel off all that sweat! The class can be very high impact but there are also impact free options given by the instructor throughout. Those can used if you have any joint issues or maybe just don't feel like jumping. My favorite is to use them as a recovery when/if necessary

So let's see, some of the moves in Attack - jogging, ham string curls, jumping jacks, skater runs, tuck jumps, straight legged front kicks, burpees, chest push ups, tricep push ups, all kinds of ab/core stuff, agility ladder runs... Okay I'm done for now

Hiya...there's nothing to be nervous about! I'll bet you're not the only newbie in the class! However, although I love them both Attack and Pump are very different classes! Attack is essentially aerobics to music, whilst Pump is high rep weight training to music. Relax, build yourself up gradually and enjoy! Try Pump too if you get the opportunity!

Whenever I try a new class, I usually try to get there about 10-15 minutes early and let the instructor know it's my first time taking it and ask if there's anything I need to know. They've always been really helpful.and usually point out some modifications and add a little more description too. I think they appreciate knowing too. They don't want to have people lost and confused in class ;) . Good luck and enjoy the class! My gym offers the Les Mill stuff too. I haven't tried Body Attack yet but based on the description above now I want to!!
