Hi,
I'm new to this forum. I've been into atkins diet for a month or two. You see, I'm from the southern part of india, where it is very difficult to follow this infamous diet. But luckily I'm a non-vegetarian and somehow manage to follow it even though, sometimes i fall prey to my cravings and get way past my carb limitations.
Anyways I've found some great results. Lost about 10 kgs ie., from 79 to 69. I could see some visible changes. Infact my family was surprised to see me when i came to my hometown during the vacations.
Everything is going the way it should be, atleast until now. But lately I'm not seeing any reductions in my belly fat. I measured it, which was 35 inches two weeks back, and it's still the same. Should I switch back to induction or what? All suggestions and ideas are invited. But please don't start preaching me about how the diet is dangerous and *kitten*. I've done a great deal of research, implemented it and found quick results. I'd like to hear from the veterans of the atkins army :P

It really doesn't matter if you low carb, eat moderate carbs, or eat high carbs. It all boils down to whether you're in a caloric deficit or not - eating less than your body burns.

Also, your stomach might be the last place to lose fat on. Your genetics dictate where the fat comes off.

Just set your macros for low carbing, eat at a caloric deficit (figure out your TDEE and -20%).

I'm not a nazi, but I do eat keto, which is permanent Atkins induction phase. If you want to eat keto, then here's a good link that can help you get started.

And here's a link on how to get your macros

Sorry about that, it was only a figure of speech. No offense intended.

Thanks for the quick response. I do get the point but the fact that im not losing any fat at the stomach is infuriating. I want to uncover the abs I've been working really hard for. Should i add any specific exercise or any fat loss supplements such as a fat burner to my regimen?

No you just have to keep losing bf and it will come off when it's ready ...you can't spot reduce and often abs is the last place

The atkins diet is great in the losing weight fast. But you have to find your balance as you come off of it. I did atkins for a while but came off too quickly and gained most of my weight back. I can't bring myself to go back as I am a carb addict and a food addict. However, I am starting to follow the Hungry Girl Diet http://www.hungry-girl.com/ and it is working out great for me.

Good Luck on your weight loss goals!
