Does my polar hrm burn calculation already take off the cals I would burnt anyway from doing nothing for an hour rather than being at the gym for an hour? Sorry can't think of the right word!!

    your burn calculations should only be for the time you're wearing it. I have the V800 it calculates for the whole day, but it keeps the training/activity/BMR calories separate, and only give me credit for the training calories.

    This. I have the A300 and the H7 HRM, and I wear the H7 when I sleep to help monitor my nocturnal seizures. Because I'm wearing the H7 it counts it as extra activity instead of sleep time, so I have to go in to MFP and subtract the activity. (But since I start it before midnight it counts it for the day before, not the day I wake up.)

    it tells you what you burn from the time you hit start to stop. Doesnt tell you what the difference is between resting and active. just what was burned.
