Heart rate monitor question?

I have HRM that using touch sensor. According to the manual given, I need to take a pause while working out to take the reading. If my workout is walking, do I need to take a pause during my walk or I can measure the heart rate while walking?

I check my heart rate while moving. I think the manufacturer suggests a pause for safety and to cover their *kitten* if someone gets hurt trying to check their heart rate while doing a pull up.0

Mine sometimes has trouble getting a reading unless I stop moving, particularly during runs. I tend to use the chest strap for that reason unless I am doing a fairly slow walk. If it will pick up you pulse while you walk, there shouldn't be an issue.0
