Too much protein?

Hi everyone!
Past couple of diary's I've noticed I'm going over my protein suggested intake - approx. 15-25 over - is this a concern? I'm dieting again now, cutting my carbs and upping my protein and fiber intake, but I'm worried I'm doing too much. Am I? Or am I overthinking?
Thanks!

by 15-25 I assume you mean grams over goal? Or are you talking percentages?

    What is your goal?

Generally it's no big deal unless
    1. You're overconsuming it SOOO much that it's taxing your kidneys or
    2. You're significantly underconsuming your fat and carb goals/requirements.

Yes, grams over goal. I don't think I'm significantly under consuming fat/carbs, but I am cutting them down.

A good rule of thumb for a protein goal would be something like .6-.8 x your body weight in lbs. If you're not significantly over that, I wouldn't concern yourself with it.

MFP's default protein goal is really, really low (and the carb goal is really high, IMHO). I changed my macro allocation to better fit my needs and you could do the same.

There's just too much info missing. Generally speaking, the more protein the better so long as you are getting what your body needs in carbs and fat.
