    If you're not sure why he gave it to you, why don't you ask? Call the office and say you have some questions and concerns. When it was prescribed, did you mention how successful you have already been?

    Some doctors just come in and out and try to spend as little time with patients as they can. Some patients never ask questions or offer any information that might be helpful as the doctor makes decisions. The two types together can lead to even worse problems than just one or the other. I'm not sure if either applies to your situation, but not knowing why something is prescribed is something of a red flag. Advocate for yourself.
