I do both cardio and weightlifting. When I'm finished I immediately eat whey protein. I don't make a full on protein shake, I usually just mix it with some water and make a thick, gooey sludge (honestly delicious) but sometimes I'm not even hungry until an hour or so after my workout. Should I force myself to eat immediately afterwards anyway? Or is it ok to wait as long as I need to?

I do a full protein shake after, and then I usually end up eating a meal within an hour or two depending on when I worked out. The big thing you need after lifting is liquid protein.0

Eat whenever you want after a workout. There is not "magic window" where you need to get X amount of protein and X amount of carbs.0
