I have a fitbit and I am ordering a food scale. I have a good selection of dumbells (for now), and I have a workout mat.
I am doing fitnessblender workouts and using fitbit with my fitness pal for calories.
Are there any other gadgets or tools that have helped you to be successful?

I'm an app freak. The ones I use the most are IntervalTimer (I use this for my squats and my runs), iMoodJournal to track my slippery feelings, Endomondo for my runs, and BPMonitor for my blood pressure. I also suggest the web based weightgrapher to make sense of weight fluctuations.
I have a flipbelt for keeping my iPhone with me, and a very good pair of running shoes.0 -
Skipping rope. Good shoes. Protein powder. If you plan on working out seriously.0

It sounds like you have the gadgets for a good start. The only other thing I can suggest is to take it slowly and then it's just "consistency". Make small changes and stick with them. Get a routine going. Once you are consistently keeping with your routine add another change. And so on. Don't try to change your entire life overnight because that gets overwhelming.0

The most important thing that will help you succeed is not a gadget but your own attitude and determination. I must confess that I'm a data geek, I love tracking speed, distance, cadence etc etc etc but at the end of the day it's having a goal in mind and applying yourself consistently that will get you to where you want to be.
What are the activities you enjoy doing?0 -
A simple accurate scale. A cloth tape measure to get good body measurements. And make sure you do the same exact spot. Even if you use a freckle on your arm as the spot!!
I used to use all the gadgets when starting. It made it all more fun and totally immersed myself in it
Now I often skip the heart rate monitor or Garmin Vivo Smart. I know when I am exerting myself hard
Whatever motivates you and keeps you going!
Maybe get a thing every week so it feels fresh and new.
There is no wrong way to help yourself succeed with using technology that keeps you motivated.0
