This fat contributes to health issues (diabetes, Alzheimer's, IBS, heart disease, cancer, auto-immune disorders, etc.) that differs from subcutaneous fat. The diet lists the types of food to turn off the trigger that caused this type of belly fat. Since I suffer from auto-immune conditions, I might try it. Many of the foods are what you would eat to lose weight anyway. You do need to incorporate fiber, spices (cinnamon, turmeric, cayenne), bright fruit, green tea, lean meat, healthy fats, and you get a smoothie ever day (non whey). Once a week, you can choose a day to eat whatever you like so you don't feel deprived. There is also a cleanse week where you have your shakes for breakfast and lunch and have dinner consisting of protein, vegetables and healthy fats-no grains or fruit since carbs can convert to glucose and be stored as fat. No cheat day during cleanse week.
Have you tried this plan? Was your firm belly fat (the kind that can't be pinched) reduced? Has your health improved?
There is no combinaion of foods that can make you target specific types of fat.
And the carbs being stored as fat myth has been beaten to death by now too.0 -

The second a cleanse is brought up in a diet, kill it with fire.

CICO ... or in our case CI<CO ... Calories in < Calories Out.
MFP ... you're here. MyFitnessPal.
Flat belly ... almost, and all from using CI<CO and losing 50 lbs.

I think you may be confusing the Flat Belly Diet by Liz Vaccariello and Cynthia Sass, MPH, RD with the Zero Belly Diet by David Zinczenko. I am starting the Zero Belly Diet today. It is basically just whole real foods in a loosely structured program... no dairy to begin with.0
