Boo tea detox

hi guys
I've been trying the boo tea detox tea's, I know people on here don't really like weight loss products however I drink a lot of green tea anyway so I thought I'd try it.
It has been great with helping bloating/water retention so far, and ive lost a few pounds, however when I have the 'night time' tea it leaves me with terrible stomach cramps when I wake up and by the time I've walked to work I get a bout of diarhea, this goes back to normal after about half an hour, however from reading the packet it says it has a natural laxative in it, is this something I should be concerned about? Has anyone else had this issue?
Thanks

Ahh you're drinking laxative teas, that's what they're intended to do.

Why would you drink something that gives you a stomach ache? Listen to your body on that one. What's in this tea? Let's look at the ingredients.

I was hoping you meant "boo, tea detox". As in they're a bad idea.

I would strongly advise against using a laxative on a regular basis. Your body does its thing already, and I'm not sure of the science behind this but I know people who have developed dependencies on laxatives as a result of unnecessary use.

Pooing a lot may have an effect on weight loss (bowels empty most of the time, illusion of lower weight), but it has no effect on fat loss, which is what most people try to accomplish at the end of day.

It's a laxative. Nothing more or less. It doesn't detox anything or make you lose fat weight.

I'd suggest finding something more useful to waste your money on

Congrats on buying liquid laxative that can only create weight loss by removing the water in your system through your rectum. It will not create any lasting weight loss.

I'm not asking so I could continue drinking the tea, sorry I didn't make that clear, I just have a bit of health anxiety so I wanted to see if anyone else had experienced this, I've had a look and it seems on the surface it's natural ingredients such as fennel etc which are known as laxatives, I know it sounds silly to expect anything different from something containing a laxative but this reaction seems a bit more severe then I'd expect from a tea..

These "teas" act like a laxative. It's a normal reaction.

This is your health anxiety talking and exactly why you shouldn't waste your time or money on such a product.

Why not lose weight healthily rather than relying on laxatives?

It's a laxative. Of course it's going to give you the trots. Seriously, that stuff is just a socially acceptable way to abuse laxatives for weight loss. You wouldn't go the the pharmacy and buy a box of ex-lax to lose weight, would you?

Congratulations, you're drinking laxatives. Please google health-risks of using laxatives, if you have some actual kind of health anxiety about these things.

I didn't buy the tea my house mate gave it to me as she disliked the taste. I'd just like to make it clear I didn't try it for the promised weight loss, I'm not stupid enough to believe a tea can make you lose weight, I will however admit I was stupid enough to buy into the 'detox' part of it. I don't plan on continuing to drink it, I was just worried that it seemed like a severe reaction to a tea (as said before - I have terrible health anxiety)

How many times did you drink the liquid laxative without any detoxifying properties?

So this doesn't just scare the weight off? :D

I kid. As mentioned, laxative effects are common with this tea.

AGAIN I would like to say I didn't try the tea for weight loss, I'm not that stupid, I tried it to get rid of bloating and yes I was stupid enough to buy into the 'detox' thing. For people on here hammering me for 'wasting my money and relying on laxatives'
    1) I didn't buy this product, it was given to and recommended by my house mate.
    2) I'm currently losing weight from eating the right amount of calories combined with small amounts of exercise, I did not resort to this to hope to Poo out the three and a half stone I want to lose
    3) I didn't post this to be mocked, I posted it to see if anyone else had this reaction, and if it was something to be concerned about as I have never used laxatives before (and the laxative effect on the packet was described as gentle) please don't post on here just to mock me,especially about the health anxiety thing.

I was not abusing laxatives for weight loss. As mentioned I tried it for bloating (and the detox part of it- stupid I know) and on the product it claimed to have a gentle natural laxative (in the same way chewing gum etc have laxative effects warnings..)

Ok dont worry OP please dont feel you have to defend yourself now as you have made it clear it was a bit experimental and you wont be continuing. As has already been pointed out you dont need to detox because your body does that for you. People just get concerned about people being misinformed and following unhealthy or futile courses of action, am sure they will take notice of what you said.

Sorry that had such an unpleasant effect. Sounds like the tea did exactly what it is supposed to. After two uses, there's probably no harm done, but since you know how your body will react, I'd be done with the stuff.

Why don't you give it to someone you hate and tell them you "didn't like the taste"?

I think the key point is to throw out the tea. You may have reacted more strongly than some, but the fact is - if you don't need a laxative and take one anyway, you're likely to poop your brains out. You may also be more sensitive that others, I know for me the "excess consumption may have laxative effects" warning on artificial sweetners actually means "fine, you can have one, but don't make any *&^%in' plans".

And the big lesson is that detoxing is a crock designed to take money and that pooping your brains out does nothing for health and will just cost you in toilet paper and potentially a sense of dignity ;)

Try peppermint tea for bloating, or another thing that may work for you is ginger. Just stick a few thin slices in some warm water with lemon. That's worked for me before without any adverse affects.

Well, "gentle natural laxative" sounds a bit nicer on the box than "this will give you a devastating case of explosive diarrhea."

No need to see your doctor or anything, that's what this tea is meant to do. You might be a bit more sensitive to the ingredients than the next person, or you may have brewed the tea a bit stronger, but your reaction to it was totally normal.

I'd stay away feel that tea though, especially now you know what an uncomfortable experience it can give you.
