Has anyone ever tried hypnosis for weight loss or motivation?

I did but all I was left with was an incredible urge to *kitten* whenever I heard a car horn honk.

    From mayoclinic.org:
Weight loss is usually best achieved with diet and exercise. If you've tried diet and exercise but are still struggling to meet your weight-loss goal, talk to your health care provider about other options or lifestyle changes that you can make. Don't rely on weight-loss hypnosis alone because it's unlikely to lead to significant weight loss.

It is unlikely to have any real effect on weight loss, and any effect that it may have is probably a placebo. I would save my money and skip the hypnosis and just log all of my food on MFP and eat at a deficit.

I would never spend money on hypnosis..
However my cousin in law started hypnosis about three or four years ago and has been at maintenance. She lost ~150lb. She looks great, but even in maintenance she is not allowed certain things still...I also do not know all of what she did in addition to hypnosis... For me, though, I like being able to enjoy anything as long as it fits my calories! :)

Thanks, I was having problems with motivation and thought it was an option but I think I'll save my money. I've had a great week and been really motivated so hopefully I can just continue on that track
