Can black tea give you... gas?

I've ditched all soda etc. for water, and now had planned to ditch coffee for tea (I know there isn't much of a health difference but I just prefer it)
however after about a week of drinking 1-2 cups of tea a day, never having drunk much of it before, I noticed that I get a lot of bloating and gas... and none of my eating habits have changed otherwise

so is it possible that a simple cuppa, black tea with soymilk and a spoon of sugar, can give you gas if you're not used to it?

a cup of tea with dairy milk can probably give you gas but that's more because of the milk than the tea... I've never tried soy-milk so I really can't say much about that...

Most gas is caused by swallowed air rather than the reaction in your digestive system so yes anything you ingest can.

If none of your other eating habits have changed than I would consider it the cause. Either continue to drink it with the affects if it is your preference or reduce the amount or limit it if you are not comfortable with the affects.
