Those of you with low thyroid, have you guys found that exercise helps increase your thyroid function? Noticed by symptoms or by your doctor actually lowering your thyroid meds since you started exercising.
I found this study.

Nope. I have Hashimoto's (autoimmune thyroid disease), and neither weight loss nor exercise has affected my thyroid levels in any way.
MFP has a couple of thyroid groups:

If you read the study, it states that changes last while you are exercising close to anaerobic threshold and shortly after exericse, and they concern circulating hormones within euthyroid levels. It reads to me more like a study on understanding how the body works than research indicating a need for medication adjustment in correlation with exercise.

I have never known anyone who lowered their dose based upon exercise, but exercise is associated with feeling better and having more energy in general.0
