Chocolate

Hi, everyone,
I'm a sleep-deprived college student who has been so burdened with stress lately that she can't help but reach for chocolate to pick her up a little. On some days, I even end up eating around 80 grams of it! However, it's always either dark chocolate (around 72% cocoa) or stevia chocolate.
My question is, do you think this is okay as long as it fits into my daily calorie limit?
P.s. I know that eating a banana, walnuts and things such as those would be better and healthier, but I'm only human and I am so stressed that I will eat you too if you suggest this.

yeah, for weight loss (and perhaps maintenance)!0 -
Sure! The sugar in chocolate is chemically the same as most of the sugar in a banana. Your body can't tell the difference.
So long as you are getting your vitamins etc. you should be grand, now go get some sleep!0 -
You like chocolate? Just include it with your calories for the day...I often eat a small portion of ice cream daily. I like it..so I work it in my plan of eating. I cut other areas so I can indulge in my 1/2 c treat a day...and I am still losing! Just make sure your not cutting out healthy nutrients...cut out stuff that your body doesn't need!0

Don't worry, I've eaten 125g bars of dark chocolate before as a meal. Dark chocolate is very good for you, google it - you'll find weird words like flavonoids which you have to further google, but the sciency dietary types are really high on dark chocolate. They won't tell you to eat entire bars of it, but it really is perfectly fine if it's fitting in with everything else you eat. By the way, bit of a tip - a bit of dark chocolate melted into porridge or onto toast is really, really nice.0 -
Of course! Why wouldn't it be? All that really matters in the end when it comes to weight is calories; it's usually the type of food you reach for that determines how easily or likely you are to stay within your goal or not, but if you eat chocolate and have no problem not going over, feel free to keep doing it! There have been numerous studies showing the benefits of eating dark chocolate with 70% or above cocoa content, so if anything your diet is very clean!0
