Cant stop eating

Finished my first marathon on Saturday and since then I have just been so incredibly hungry. I cant stop eating. During training i was able to maintain my weight (70 pound loss)by making healthy choices, but eating more of it, but i am still a good 25 pounds from goal. i need to get back to eating a deficit but having a hard time as right now my body is craving fats and calorie dense things.
i tried yesterday to eat on plan for 1690 calories but was still so hungry after dinner. any runners ever exoierence an up tick in hunger after a marathon and the training leading up to it? will i eventually regulate where i will feel satisfied on lighter choices again?
any advice?

Is your period coming up? I'm always hungrier that week, and the junk food calls my name.
I've never run a marathon but I do run and have not noticed that it makes me crave calorie dense food more.0 -
any time I run a lot I get really hungry. The more I run- the hungrier I get.
I can imagine after a marathon I'd be starving for days. I'd let it go for a week or two and then try reign it in.0 -
What sort of diet protocol do you follow to hit your goals? If you've been dieting for a long time and restricting certain foods or eliminating them completely you may want to investigate IIFYM. Did you do a carb load prior to racing and then a re-feed after your race? Your body may simply need feeding to help you repair and recover.0

My SIL runs a lot of marathons. Usually after a race, she eats like a horse for 3-4 days and then her appetite normalizes again.
It's probably just your body going "Whoa, that was hard! Should probably load up on calories in case we have to do it again tomorrow!"0 -

I loaded in the days before and ate normal the day before. ate half a large pizza that night sunday had a big breakfast and lunch no dinner. monday was normal and the last two days have been on the verge of binge but i have more control than that
i wondered if it was just my body needing sometime to bounce back. physically i feel awesome. walked three miles the day after, worked out at gym monday, rested yesterday, going for my first post race run tonight. just the last two days have brought hunger.0
