If you went up in calories did you gain?

Hi everyone,
I ended up raising my caloric intake yesterday to TDEE -15% because my weight loss has been stagnant for awhile at TDEE -20% and I was only 8 pounds from my goal. When I weighed in this morning I gained almost .5 pounds. I made sure yesterday to really watch my sodium and eat as little processed foods as possible because I was hoping for success at my weigh in. The reason I'm frustrated is because when I went from 1200 calories to 1500-1600 calories I lost weight immediately. I never had a small gain like I did today. It's not my TOM and my sodium intake was great yesterday and I had my normal run so it shouldn't be water retention. I am 5'4", 130, 39. I would love to get some advice!
