So im 17.7 stone male, 5 ft 7, 27 years old. I was 17.10 stone at my heaviest about 5 years ago. I lost weight down to 14.5 stone and was getting happy with weight. (Im very broad). I dont care to get to 10% bf but a healthy 12-15% would suit me. Im terrified of getting loose skin through dieting. To the point where its making me stall. I exercise 4-5 times a week which includes football/boxing and weight lifting. Is there anything else i should or can do to help? Anyone had experience or advice with this? thanks

At your height, 247-250 lbs, under 30 years old, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just don't lose the weight too quickly and keep lifting weights. Even if there is some loose skin towards the end, you are still young enough that it will tighten up as your BF% goes down.

Loose skin is dependant on my factors, genetics being key. Some things may help....proper hydration, stimulation of skin on that area (applying lotion to increase circulation), realistic loses in realistic time frames, consistent exercise....
But, there is little way of knowing how your body will respond until it happens. Focus on good health over taut skin...

Don't tan, smoke, and use lotion.

    Give it time.

The thing is i want to lose the weight to have a better life, be confident to take my top off and take the kids swimming etc etc, If i have loose skin all over me as a male i cant do that. Infact it will probably look worse than it does now :(

    Agreed.

And the loose skin is not likely going to be visible to the majority of people. You're probably thinking of big folds of skin, which happens when you are much heavier than you are/were. Your loose skin would probably be more like you're not going to see it unless you pull it out away from your body. Look up the "so you want a nice stomach" thread. I think she has pictures in there of her stomach. I'm guessing that is how yours may end up.

To be honest calorie counting just isnt working for me, Ive tried for months in the past also and i just cant seem to find the magic number, im talking weeks of non cheating, weighing everything and not a lb difference. So i think im going to do slimming world as its still wholesome food and i can get required amount protein/food to lose slowly. Maybe when ive lost the first stone or 2 ill come back. At my height its recommended to be at about 11 stone. Which for my shape is absurd. My shoulders etc have always been built and even in my school days i was slim but at about 12 stone. I think 13 stone would be the lowest i aim for to be honest. But maybe 14 stone as i do hold a fair amount of muscle also
