Where did the term special snowflake come from?

hmmmm, we must read different boards because I haven't seen that term used here. BUT...we do use it at work a lot in reference to "everyone's different"...everyone is a snowflake, slightly different from each other.0

I have been reading the forums for awhile now and see the term special snowflake. Just wondering where it came from?
although we are all slightly to moderately different, for the most part we all work the same.
Many discussions in the health, nutrition, and fitness the author of posts assume their physiology is vastly different than another individual-to the point that it doesn't make rational sense (or even irrational sense).
The term is generally mocking someone being unreasonable.
For example...nobody on this site gains muscle faster than a woman who doesn't want to get bulky.0 -
