Calisthenics?

Does anyone do them rather than weight training?

I do body weight training, which I guess is calisthenics. I love it and am seeing real results. I was a big-time weenie to begin with, no real muscle on me at all. Now I have actual muscle showing up (several people have asked what I do and what program I'm using in the last few months because they've been able to see the changes) and am definitely getting stronger. I may eventually move to lifting weights when I can no longer progress with the body weight, but I've got a ways to go before that.

Yes. I do. I have been doing mostly calisthenics for several years now. Its highly underrated and a lot more difficult to "outgrow" than people think.

My routine is mostly BWF. I also use dumbbells and add weight to a some exercises to make them more difficult. I enjoy the challenge of BWF.

Definitely! Like rybo said it is very difficult to actually "outgrow" body weight driven exercises unless form is off or injuries prevent certain motions.

Well, I've been wondering about it because I've never really enjoyed weight training, and now some of the lifts are bothering my back (I have arthritis in my spine). Not sure I would like this any better, but checking it out.
